Believing there’s a connection between the thoughts and feelings you seek from your home and your surroundings; Cardwell Inc. works with you to mindfully align your spaces, so they reflect who you are and transform the way you live. It’s all about interior design that creates the flow of energy and balance you seek.

Like most people, 2020 changed the way I worked. It had me seeking answers. Diving deeper into how I could work with people to not only improve homes, but the quality of life within.

I questioned if good interior design could change negative energy

Once we could step outside beyond our own walls, I started to enter the homes of clients, again. I naturally found myself checking the energy flow of houses and discovering the relationships between issues clients were facing and how this reflected in their homes.

People were seeking peace and happiness within their homes. They wanted more than beautiful spaces. They wanted to transform the way they lived by creating a better balance of energy.

Throughout my life I’ve had experiences with and dabbled in Feng Shui. But it wasn’t until I started speaking with clients, post lockdown, that I truly made the connection between Feng Shui and conscious interior design. And I wondered, is it time to talk about how Feng Shui can enhance the way you live?

What is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui at its core is about understanding the way you interact with your environment and deal with the energy in your spaces. It’s about the parallels between the state of your home and that of your mind, body and spirit. Allowing you to harness energy forces and establish harmony between you and your home.

According to Feng Shui master and architect, RD Chin, “Feng Shui is like acupuncture for your space. With acupuncture, needles are placed into the body to help move the energy within the body. Feng Shui uses the furniture and furnishings like artwork and plants – to help enhance the flow of energy within your space.”

Feng Shui and Interior Design

Introducing Feng Shui as a specialist practice within conscious interior design is the ability to take control of the way energy flows around you and mixes with your own energy so you can begin to adjust the way you feel. Truly transforming the way you live.

It’s thought that a strong, vibrant flow of Feng Shui will nourish your energy and allow you to focus on, and achieve, your goals. Quality Feng Shui will create harmony, good relationships, and balance health and wellbeing. Bad Feng Shui will do the opposite – disrupt the energy, manifest as feelings of restlessness, agitation, poor sleep and show itself in adverse events and occurrences. The answer to creating good Feng Shui in spaces is within you.

Through implementing specific design principles that promote success, Feng Shui is said to allow your energy to flow uninhibited through your home, improving your overall quality of life – especially with respect to:

  • Self
  • Relationships
  • Children
  • Friendships
  • Career
  • Knowledge
  • Family
  • Wealth

Looking within your home, there’s 1 simple way you can begin to incorporate Feng Shui

  • Understand your clutter.

When thinking about Feng Shui most people immediately think about furniture placement.  However, the foundation for good Feng Shui is a space that is clean and clutter-free. This my friend is where we start, because clutter highlights areas of your life that are not flowing and need attention. Quite simply good energy and clutter cannot co-exist.

And once we look at these areas that accumulate congestion and clutter, we start to look at implementing Feng Shui interior design principles that truly create the balance you seek in your home. Creating spaces that you feel aligned with and can’t wait to come home to, and live in.
